SBYO prohibits peddling

Dimapur, Oct. 1 (EMN): Seitheke Basa Youth Organisation (SBYO) has notified that peddling of any kind of materials within the village jurisdiction of Seitheke Basa Village would be strictly prohibited without prior information or permission from the village authority. SBYO president, Zesevikho Vakha, and the general secretary, Vimhazonuo Kapfo, informed that defaulters would be sternly penalised.

Faculty seminar held at Modern College

Dimapur, Oct. 1 (EMN): A collaborative faculty seminar, organised by Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Modern College and KROS College, was held on October 1 at Modern College. Delivering the welcome address, the principal of Modern College, Dr Vitsou Yano, highlighted the purview of NEP 2020 stressing on the importance of research-based teaching in higher education. The speakers were Pulovili Lohe and Alito Swu, both assistant professors at Modern College, and Limakumla Imsong, Emilo Ovung and Dr. Tiamongla Kichu, assistant professors at KROS College. The five speakers presented well researched papers across two technical sessions during which topics on role of women, vocational education and training, romanticism and poems, multiple intelligence, socio economic status and natural resources were discussed. A total of 33 teaching faculty from Modern College and KROS College participated in the seminar.

WPAF to hold prayer conference

Dimapur, Oct. 1 (EMN): World Peace Ambassadors’ Federation (WPAF) has decided to observe ‘World Peace Prayer Warriors Conference’ in various districts of Nagaland from October 4 to the 8th. The inter-denominational and international conference is being organised to pray for peace of all nations across the world, informed Rev. Dr. DL Sanchu. The conference is being organised to pray for peace of all nations around the world and produce more peace makers, to pray that COVID-19 pandemic become powerless and ensure peace and social ecological harmony in the global community.

KPC condoles demise of Rovi Seyie

Dimapur, Oct. 1 (EMN): Kohima Press Club (KPC) has condoled the demise of Rovi Seyie, father of its vice president, Asa Seyie, who passed away on October 1 at the age of 104 years. A KPC press release stated that Rovi Seyie has been a pioneer and a mentor to many in the society. He was the first Christian convert from Mengujuma village and also the first pastor of the village — a position which he had served for over two decades. KPC lamented that in his demise, it has lost a loving father, an uncle, a grandfather, a visionary teacher, a Christian pioneer, and a powerhouse of knowledge and wisdom. It further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
