With the onset of festive season and concerned about the reports of various forms of diseases, the Naga Hoho has requested the State government to conduct rigorous screening of tourists who will come to the State during Hornbill Festival.
“The festive season is setting in soon and along with will come tourists from various parts of the world to the State,” said Naga general secretary Mutsikhoyo Yhobu in a letter addressed to the Chief Minister today.
Sharing the Hoho’s concern, he said the world is threatened with various ailments and diseases for which question has been raised in various quarters on the preparedness of the State in mitigating such outcomes.
“The recent outbreak of Ebola is raging around the world and that neighbouring state Manipur was recently scared with a Japanese tourist coming from Myanmar who was suddenly found ill and was hospitalised and suspected to be suffering from Ebola. It’s a happy augury that the test results have been negative for which it is a huge breather,” he reminded the government.
Appreciating the State government initiatives for promoting and nurturing tourism as a result of which there has been a rise in the flow of tourists to the State, the Naga Hoho requested the Chief Minister to take precautionary measures by screening the tourists so as to safeguard and protect the citizens.
