Dimapur, Dec. 30: Kobulong Extra Assistant Commissioner Headquarters under Mokokchung district today celebrated its glorious golden jubilee (1966-2016) with much pomp and gaiety at the office cum EAC residential premises.
Addressing the programme, EAC Kobulong, Trongdiba Tongpi stressed on the development of EAC Hq Kobulong. While assuming they are more than 500 plus Gazetted Officers from Asetkong range alone, he attributed ‘sheer negligence’ for dismal pace of progress in the area.
He urged upon the people of the range to prioritise development of the EAC Hq cutting across clans or villages. “If Kobulong develops, the range will develop,” he asserted.
Earlier, Kobulong EAC, Trongdiba Tongpi unveiled the jubilee monolith and dedicatory prayer was pronounced by O Alang, pastor of Kobulong Baptist Church, while short speeches were also delivered by A Nungsang Jamir, president of Asetkong Mungdang; Imli Aier, chairman of Village Council Khanimu; and Rongsennukshi Aier, president ofr Asetkong Kaketshir Telongjem Mungdang. A brief history of Kobulong was delivered by T Molong Lemtur, vice chairman of ATC, Kubolong.
The jubilee programme was attended by members of Kobulong Adhoc Town Committee, civil societies and village councils under Asetkong range.
It may be mentioned here that EAC Hq Kobulong caters the administration of the whole Asetkong range. Kobulong under Circle Officers from 1956 was upgraded to EAC Headquarters in 1966 when late NI Jamir was the DC of Mokokchung.
