A school for farmers called the ‘Farmers Field School’ on paddy crop has been launched in Thamdong in Tuensang district by Department of Agriculture on June 23.
A function was held to mark the event. The keynote address was delivered by agriculture official Menungchetba. He highlighted the importance of implementing IPM method in the field for achieving higher productivity and production.
The technical session was conducted by Beso Chang, AFA and agriculture officer Wongto Chingmak as the resource persons. They discussed topics, concepts, and principles of IPM and Dos and Don’ts of seedling. 30 farmers participated in the training programme.
The day long programme culminated with distribution of IPM kits to farmers.
