We (Nagas) are distinctly a Sovereign Independent people and a free nation in our own ways of life and tradition. But India began to invade some parts of our country in 1954. Thus the Indo-Naga conflict began ever since and it is still on the run of six decades without any solution. Instead of seeking solution, the renegades increasingly created factions, divisions and sought the slavery lion’s share from the Government of India (GOI) on the pretext of nationalism or economic package and weakening our nation. Thus the aggressor India always took advantages of which and suffered us till date. India knows very well about our rights as a Naga nation. The GOI knows that Naga have been observing the 14th August every year as Naga Independence Day since 1947 and India always sadly bears in mind that the Indo-Naga Ceasefire Agreement had already been signed between the Government of India (GOI) and the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) in 1964 as this Agreement clearly testified the testament of the two nations.The Nagas are not Indians. The Indians are a strange people for the Nagas. The Nagas and Indians are quite different each other. Thus our forefathers often said, “Indians are black in color, black in heart and black in acts”. Let us deeply study once again about this and do the right as a true Naga. The father of our nation Dr. A.Z. Phizo said, “There are few educated men who are so defeated in their mental make-up, through their English knowledge by reading high English literatures that they believe that Independence is out of question”. If it were so, were not Nagas made Nagas suffered? The only way to eradicate/wipe out such defeated mind is knowing that God makes the Nagas to live in a particular country and protect their land and people which never belong to India or any other foreign nation.
Today some pseudo Nagas are running after the wealth of India, whereas Indians are always looking to swallow us all and our blessed land. But it is not the will of God. God wants us to be a free people and served Him. So it is the responsibility of every Naga to stand straight, speak out the truth in one voice and set our feet on the promised land, lest the wrath of God befalls.
The renegade groups along with pseudo Nagas are trying to bring about a piecemeal solution. But the Naga nation will never allow it. We are a nation. Therefore we have sacrificed our lives, blood, tears and our all in defense of our nation.
The Naga National Council (NNC) as the parent body of the Naga nation had laid all the foundation stones of our Nation and NNC shall continue to work till India, the aggressor withdraws her invading Armed Forces from the Naga soil. NNC is the only way to Triumph.
