Eden Medical Centre Dimapur: ICU sealed, OPD and emergency services temporarily closed
Dimapur, July 18 (EMN): The intensive care unit (ICU) in Eden Medical Centre (EMC) has been sealed as a precautionary measure after a patient, who had came to the hospital “in respiratory distress” on July 17 evening, tested positive for Covid-19 in the initial “screening test” conducted at the hospital.
According to a press release from the EMC, the hospital authorities decided that another testing was needed for confirmation.
“Dimapur Covid Task Force was informed immediately and re-sampling for confirmatory RT-PCR test was done, results of which will be available only the next day (July 19),” it stated.
In the meantime, the ICU has been sealed; OPD and emergency services closed till the result of RT-CPR is available, it informed.
SBI official tests positive
In another case, an official of the State Bank of India (SBI), who was recently transferred to Guwahati from the Dimapur Bazaar Branch, tested positive for Covid-19.
According to a letter from the chief manager of the bank branch to the deputy commissioner of Dimapur, the official had left for Guwahati by a hired vehicle from Dimapur on July 12; and on reaching the destination, he was immediately quarantined.
He tested negative in the rapid test on July 14, but they also took a swab test on the same day, the result of which came positive on July 17, it stated.
