The District Tobacco Control Cell, Dimapur, has announced to observe World No Tobacco Day by organizing essay competition among the schools for students from Class X and below in Holy Cross School on May 31 at 8:30 AM on the topic “Harmful effects of smokeless tobacco on health.”The topic has been chosen in view of the high prevalence rate of smokeless tobacco use among the school children in Nagaland. The prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd winners would be Rs 5000, Rs 3000 and Rs 2000 respectively which is being sponsored by the Indian Dental Association, Dimapur Branch. All the participants would also be awarded with a certificate.
Dr. C Tetseo, District Nodal Office (NTCP) has informed that each school would be entitled to send two students. Interested schools are asked to contact phone nos. 8794825544, 9612950514, and 8575726471 to confirm their participation.
