CM puts in for Peren: Primary schools get a taste of IT

The chief minister of the state is also putting in bit for his constituent district. A three month program to impart essential computer skills for government primary schools in Peren and Longleng district is underway. The program is an initiative of the chief minister of Nagaland TR Zeliang, organizer sinforme don May 19. The program began in Tening village, under Peren district on May 18.The project is undertaken by M/s Ramietech Solutions. There is even a theme for the program: “Nurturing the digital skill of our young for the future”.
During the inaugural event, a comprehensive presentation on essential operation and skills of computing, computer fundamentals, and application of Microsoft Office, and use of internet and websites was presented to the schools’ children and faculties. A demonstration on the Microsoft Windows Operating System was also conducted.
Also, a set of all-in-one computer desktop with a “multi-function printer and UPS” were handed over to the government primary school of Tening village. Handbooks on basic computer fundamentals with notepads, file covers, pens, and pencils, among others were also distributed to the schools.
Under this 3 month program 25 villages and 39 government primary schools under Peren and Longleng district will be covered. A program on development of “extensive school software” is still in process, it was informed. The program will aid submission of results, enrolment and attendance of students for efficient report-generation and monitoring.
The first day training program was attended by teachers, students of the government primary schools of Tening village and Tening Christian village, and members and leaders of Tening Village Council.
