Nagaland team attends Startup ecosystem workshop in Tripura

DIMAPUR — A team from Nagaland including state officials, incubators and startups recently participated in the ‘Building innovation and startup ecosystem for Northeast: A peer-learning workshop,’ organised by the Directorate of Information Technology, Government of Tripura, in collaboration with NITI Aayog and AIM.

The workshop, which was held on February 29 and March 1 in Agartala, aimed to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among stakeholders to enhance the innovation and startup ecosystem in the northeast region, an update stated.

The Nagaland delegation included Lhoushevikho Lhoushe, assistant director of Industries and Commerce; Dr. Arenla Aier, HRD consultant of IDAN; Namang T Chang, export promotion consultant of IDAN; Lezo Putsure, director of Educenter Schools of Business; and Loli Ashevi from YouthNet.

The workshop was conducted with the objective to provide a platform for dialogue on key topics such as policy frameworks, funding opportunities, key strengths and threats of the state in regards to startup ecosystem, capacity building and collaboration between government, incubator, academia and industries.

Report stated that through active engagement and collaboration with stakeholders from across the northeast region, the Nagaland team identified areas for collaboration and resource sharing, paving the way for future initiatives to support startups in the state.

The workshop was led by Chintan Vaishnav, mission director of AIM–NITI Aayog, along with Tripura state officials including Jitendra Kumar Sinha, chief secretary; Puneet Agarwal, principal secretary; Kiran Gitte, secretary; Dr. Naresh Babu N, director of IT; Himangshu Joshi, programme director of Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog; government officials and representatives from startups of northeast.

Key highlights of the workshop included insightful discussions on building innovation networks and learning from successful incubator models.

It stated that the Nagaland team had an opportunity to interact with experienced government officials, state incubators and startup representatives, further strengthening networks and partnerships within the startup ecosystem.

“The insights gained from the workshop will guide future endeavors to nurture and support startups in Nagaland. By leveraging collaborative opportunities and sharing best practices, the Nagaland team remains committed to fostering a vibrant startup ecosystem that drives economic growth and innovation within the state,” it stated.
