DIMAPUR — The monthly meeting of the District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), Dimapur, was held on Monday in the conference hall of the DC Dimapur under the chairmanship of Advisor, Labour and Employment and Skill Development, Excise, and chairman of DPDB Dimapur, Moatoshi Longkumer.
According to a DIPR report, DC Dimapur Dr. Tinojongshi Chang thanked Moatoshi and Advisor for Industries and Commerce, Hekani Jakhalu, for making time to attend the meeting and urged the members to rededicate themselves to their assigned duties for the district’s upliftment.
Informing members about the upcoming Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games scheduled from February 13 to 17 in Dimapur and Chümoukedima districts, he mentioned that the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) had requested funding from DPDB Dimapur for transportation and other logistics to ensure the smooth conduct of the games. In response, the MLAs of Dimapur district and various government departments have decided to contribute and assist the NOA.
Moatoshi expressed that all department heads bear responsibility when such events take place in Dimapur and requested that the members render their services. Jakhalu, meanwhile, expressed optimism that 2024 would prove to be a fruitful year for the Dimapur district.
Other highlights of the meeting included a review of the last DPDB meeting, discussions on society registration, and the consideration of including senior SDEOs from the Directorate of School Education in DPDB meetings.
