DIMAPUR — The Miraculum Society, a society founded by former Miss Nagaland, Vikuonuo Sachu, inaugurated the ‘Creative Friendship Centre for Children’ at High School Sector ‘B’ in Noklak town on Sunday.
The centre was inaugurated by Col. Christopher and his wife Mryna Rego, who have come all the way from Bengaluru to Noklak. The couple is the founder of Sunbird Trust, which funded the construction of the centre and works for the welfare of children in several states across Northeast India and beyond, an update from The Miraculum Society stated.
It stated Hempao, executive secretary of Khiamniungan Baptist Churches Association (KBCA), has pronounced the dedicatory prayer followed by a short programme at GA Rest House. It informed that the centre, which would focus on holistic development of youth, is equipped with a library and office.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, Sachu thanked her team and Sunbird Trust for their unflinching faith shown toward her and stated that the centre was constructed in honour of her grandparents, who played a pivotal role in her life. She has also acknowledged the district administration of Noklak for all the assistance rendered to the society. She expressed gratitude to the landowners and the community as a whole for their support towards the construction of the centre.

Miss Nagaland launches project in Noklak
Narrating that the journey was not an easy one, she stated that it was the positive reinforcement from various quarters that kept her team moving forward. She added that it was during her first visit to Noklak in 2021 when the district and its people won her over completely and held a special place in her heart ever since. Expressing delight on having achieved the milestone, she thanked her family for never stopping her from realising her dreams.
Col. Christopher, CEO of Sunbird Trust, encouraged the citizens to contribute their services even in the days to come in order to take the vision forward. He stated that when Sunbird Trust was approached for the construction of the centre, they were convinced of the Miraculum Society’s commitment. He added that friends and well-wishers have come forward with donations, which helped fund the construction of the centre.
Narrating his experiences as a former army officer in the Northeastern states, he mentioned how his love for the people motivated him to begin Sunbird Trust along with his wife. He informed that the Trust has constructed 13 schools in different parts of the region and also initiated various intervention programmes for children in remote corners of the country.
The EAC of Noklak, Kathyinla, who spoke on behalf of the district administration, stated that Sachu’s goodness and purity at heart has made the Khiamniungan community embrace her as one of its own daughters.
She thanked the Miraculum Society for the noble initiative and Sunbird Trust for breathing life into the project. She expressed hope that the centre would serve a safe haven for children. She further wished that the friendship forged between the Khiamniungan community and the two organisations would continue for generations to come.
Prakash, CEO of Eduversity, narrated on the outcome of the 21 days free coaching programme. He informed that the institute had conducted classes for students of classes 9 and 10 during their summer break.
Stating that the students have now developed new aspirations, he encouraged parents to pay attention to their children’s academics and not to dismiss their failures as problems.
