KOHIMA — The Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) has rescheduled the dates of the viva-voce for the Combined Staff Recruitment Examination 2022 (CSRE), even as the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) on Saturday announced that it has cancelled the proposed boycott of the viva voce.

Secretary-cum-Controller of Examination, NSSB, in a notification informed that the viva-voce for the Combined Staff Recruitment Examination 2022 ((CSRE) will commence from April 24 onwards.

“The revised schedule for viva voce shall be available on the official website of the board at https://nssb.nagaland.gov.in.  Hence the candidates have been informed to check the website and strictly comply with the instructions accordingly,” the notification stated.

The NSF on Saturday announced also that the proposed democratic agitation by the federation throughout the proposed duration of personal interview for the current cycle of Combined Staff Selection Examination 2022 being conducted by the NSSB stands cancelled.

The federation in a press release stated that the decision to cancel the proposed agitation was taken after the NSF received an assurance from the Government of Nagaland through an official communication from the Personnel and Administrative Reforms (vide reference NO. AR-3/GEN-39/2022) on Saturday.

“It is again conveyed that your demand has been looked into with utmost seriousness, and it is assured that after completion of the present cycle of recruitment by NSSB, the government shall call for detail consultations with the NSF to examine the entire matter pertaining to the proportion of the total marks to be kept in the viva-voce component in the next cycle of recruitments to be conducted by the NSSB, and arrive at an agreed suitable solution to the matter,” the official communication stated.

The government further requested the NSF to let the viva-voce for the current CSRE to proceed as scheduled and to provide support for its smooth conduct.

The NSF had earlier resolved to protest and boycott the viva-voce of the NSSB’s CSRE, which was scheduled for April 17 and the 18th, if the federation’s demand for the viva-voce component in all categories is not reduced to 5% of the total marks as against the proposed 12.5 %.

Meanwhile, the NSF appreciated the state government for exercising the political will to ensure a free and fair recruitment process in the government job market by making the NSSB functional in the state, and also for the assurance to address the lacunas within the Nagaland State Staff Selection Board Regulation 2020, before the next cycle of examination.

The Federation also acknowledged its federating units and sub-ordinate bodies, aspirants, parents and the public for their continued support “to uphold the aspirations of the students and youth community and for posterity.”
