CBC Diphupar ‘B’ wins choir competition

Dimapur, Oct. 23(EMN): The two-day Western Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (WCBCC) youth department convention-cum-sports retreat concluded on Sunday at WCBCC Mission Centre, Chümoukedima.
Chakhesang Baptist Church (CBC) Diphupar ‘B’ emerged as winner of the choir competition, while CBC Chümoukedima and CBC Diphupar ‘A’ won the second and third positions respectively.
A total of 15 churches participated in the choir competition.
Hito Kiho, one of the judges of choir competition, shared that the Chakhesangs are doing well in music, especially choir music, and encouraged them to work on more originals songs.
“In the future if you can have your own music and folk songs, they can be incorporated into choir songs,” Kiho said while also giving suggestions to perform better in choirs.
During the sports retreat held on Saturday, CBC East Dimapur, CBC 7th Mile and CBC Diezephe secured first, second and third places respectively in the men’s volleyball.
In women’s volleyball, CBC Diezephe, CBC East Dimapur and CBC Seluophe won first, second and third positions respectively.
In men’s penalty shootout, CBC Diezephe, CBC Jalukie town and CBC Dimapur town emerged first, second and third respectively. In women’s penalty shootout, CBC Seluophe, CBC Toulazouma and CBC Medziphema were placed first, second and third respectively.
In the individual awards, Beduzo from East Dimapur won best setter and Zapove Keyho from 7th Mile won best attacker in men’s category. In women’s category, Rikhro-ü Lasuh from East Dimapur won best setter and Münülü Lohe from Diezephe won best attacker. Best goal keeper award was given to Ruku Nyekha from Jalukie town in men’s category and Vesüngolü Rhakho from Medziphema won best goalkeeper in women’s category.
