Dimapur, May 26 (EMN): After Chennai and Gurugram, one more special Shramik train from Jaipur railway station in Rajasthan departed for Dimapur on Tuesday, carrying more than 1400 stranded NE citizens.
The train is expected to reach Dimapur on May 28.
Speaking to Eastern Mirror, the president of the Naga Students’ Union Rajasthan, Asimbe, said that the special train, also carrying 300-350 Nagaland citizens, departed at around 3 pm on May 26 from the railway station.
Asimbe said that the evacuation of stranded Northeast citizens through the special Shramik train was an initiative undertaken by the government of Rajasthan.
Similarly, he said that the first batch was dispatched with the help of Rajasthan’s nodal officer for stranded persons from NE, Haulianlal Guite, and Suman WM Sivachar, nodal officer for stranded persons (North zone).
However, he said that there were still more than 350 stranded Nagaland citizens waiting for the confirmation call for their journey back home.
