Dimapur, May 9 (EMN): The total number of suspected Covid-19 samples sent for testing from Nagaland rose to 848 on Saturday.
According to an update from Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha, results for 62 samples are awaited while the remaining 786 have tested negative.
“As regard the financial assistance to stranded persons of Nagaland in other states, due to the lockdown, till date a total of 18,156 applicants comprising 13,782 working people, 4,203 students and 171 patients have been provided assistance by transferring the amounts to their bank accounts. A total of INR 7.12 crore has been disbursed for this purpose,” he informed.
Union Minister of Health Dr. Harsh Vardhan held a video conference with all the Northeast states and discussed plans for expansion of the testing facilities, status of treatment centres etc., Sinha said.
For Nagaland, the principal secretary for Health and Family Welfare, the principal director and other officers participated in the video conference.
