1st United T20 Open Cosco Ball Cricket begins

Dimapur, September 10

The 1st United T20 Open Cosco Ball Cricket Tournament under the theme ‘Cricket to Christ’, organized by United Baptist Churches, North East India, Dimapur, got underway this morning at DDSC Stadium.
Deputy Director, Horticulture department, Jerry Patton was the chief guest at the inaugural function.
Addressing the gathering, Patton lauded the players for their participation in the tournament which is being organized basing on religious aspect. He urged them to maintain strict discipline and decorum in and off the field.
He, however, rued that people have lost the moral values of life, which should not be the case of Christian state like Nagaland and therefore urged the people to develop the liking of reading Bible in order to widen their horizon for righteousness.
Minister for Roads & Bridges Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu will grace the closing function on September 20 as chief guest and give away prizes to the winners.
Altogether 26 teams are participating in the event.
Rev. Y.T. Lotha, advisor, UBCA-NEI said the invocation prayer while Rev. Puduhu Khuso is the convener of the organizing committee of the tournament. Akavi Yeptho, evangelist, UBCA-NEI was the moderator of the function.
