Zunheboto public apprehends 2 for demanding money

Zunheboto public apprehended two persons for allegedly demanding money from shopkeepers at New Colony and Old Town in broad daylight today. When contacted OC, Zunheboto police station confirmed the incident.
On receiving information, a joint team of youth volunteers engaged in ACAUT sticker campaign quickly swung into action and took statements of the public and shopkeepers of the area before apprehending one of the accused.
The apprehended accused has been identified as Akheto Yeptho, son of Hetovi, of Ngzubo village and presently residing at Amiphoto Colony Zunheboto. He is reportedly a Raju Peyu in GPRN/NSCN. He was later handed over to the authority in presence of SDPO Zunheboto Kaino Chishi and OC Zunheboto Picto Sema who recorded his statement. A sum of Rs 4010, some documents and a mobile phone were also recovered from his possession.The accused also revealed the identity of his two other accomplices who gave a slip to the public and could not be apprehended.
In another incident, an NSCN (I-M) cadre was apprehended by public at Old Town. The irate public was found manhandling the accused but was pacified by the youth volunteers. Some extorted money, banned capsules and tablets were recovered from his possession.
The accused has been identified as one Kevi Zhimo, son of Khuvuto of Nunumi village under Satakha PS and presently residing at Amiphoto Colony. He stated that he was serving as Khapur under NSCN (I-M).
Meanwhile, the volunteers in a compliant note have urged the authorities not to grant bail to the accused and cautioned any individual or group against releasing the accused.
The public also submitted a resolution addressed to the District Magistrate through the Civil Judge Zunheboto.
