WSKH, WSH urges govt. to settle Kiyevi-Lamhai boundary issue
Dimapur, April 28 (EMN): Western Sümi Kükami Hoho (WSKH) and the Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) have appealed to the state government to resolve the Kiyevi-Lamhai boundary issue at the earliest.
The WSKH during an emergency meeting with its executive members, advisory board, area chairmen and former presidents on April 28 at WSH office appealed to the state government to settle the matter at the earliest. It stated failure of the state government to settle the matter would compel the Zeliang and Sumi tribes to resolve the matter within their own customary law, adding that the government would not be allowed to intervene during such time.
In order to avoid conflicts among the Naga brothers, the WSKH appealed to the particular tribal hohos to look into the matter and recall/retrieve those land encroachers.
Meanwhile, WSH alleged that there is a massive encroachment going on with sophisticated weapons at the disputed site where the state government ordered to maintain a status quo between the disputed parties. It claimed that new encroachments are taking place despite the deployment of IRB personnel at the site and subsequent order issued by Home department on June 25, 2019.
Stating that the situation has become very tense and could explode anytime, WSH urged the state government to intervene without any bias and settle the issue without delay.
It further stated that WSH would not be held responsible for any untoward incident arising out of the issue.
