DIMAPUR: The Western Sümi Kükami Hoho (WSKH) and Western Sümi Youth Front (WSYF) have resolved not to allow any individual or group of individuals to form new factions at any cost or to canvas for creating divisions within groups/factions within its jurisdiction.

This was resolved at a joint meeting of the two Western Sümi frontal organisations at WSH Ki in Chekiye village on Friday, where numerous issues confronting the society were deliberated.

Emphasising the need for Nagas to work together, the Western Sümis said that they wouldn’t co-operate with any defaulting factions or groups.

“The unity amongst the Nagas is the need of the hour and  as such creating divisions one after another at this opportune time is very unfortunate for the Nagas as whole and to prevent such recurrence amongst the Nagas which is  being perpetrated by unseen forces , the Western Sümi Kükami Hoho and Western Sümi Youth Front had jointly resolved not to allow such unseen forces to divide us again,” read the joint statement.

It also urged the people to work towards bringing unity among the Nagas,  leaving aside the past differences.

The two organisations further urged the government of India to expedite the Indo-Naga peace  talk and bring the Naga political issue to its logical conclusion at the earliest for the greater interest of the Nagas.
