Dimapur, Oct. 6 (EMN): The Tsokum festival cum volleyball tournament, organised by Friends Club at Thonoknyu concluded on Oct. 5. An update from DIPR informed that M Tsongtsa, head teacher Primary School, Pathso Nokeng, was the special guest for the closing ceremony.
It said the chief guest urged the participating teams to maintain discipline and spirit of the game. HE said self-discipline was important to become a sports person, and called upon the players to exhibit their talents in discipline with true sportsmanship.
The programme was chaired by referee inspector, P Yamso Shiu. Welcome note was delivered by referee commissioner, PC Kamthong.
It said a special number was presented by Melody Voice Elite volleyball Club Thonoknyu town and Tsoiphu volleyball Club.
It said in the men’s final match between Tsoiphu Students Union ‘A’ and Chilliso Eastern volleyball Club ‘C’, the former emerged as the winner. In the women’s category, Jengphu Sporting Club, Thonoknyu village came out as the winner while United Mother’s Club, Thonoknyu town were the runner-up.
