Dimapur, Nov. 11 (EMN): The Dimapur Ex-Cricketers Forum and Kohima Veterans Cricket Club will play an exhibition match on November 13 at Sovima Cricket Ground, Dimapur.
The game will be a day and night affair and is scheduled to start at 12 noon, an update informed. In this match, two teams of 11 players will play a four-innings match, with 20 overs per inning. Both Kohima and Dimapur will field two separate teams for this match, it said.
It said that the Convener of DECF, Harjinder Singh Ahluwalia informed that the objective of the exhibition match is ‘to play together, maintain physical fitness and help promote the youngsters’.
He further stated that there were plans to promote veterans’ cricket all over Nagaland.
“This is also a historic moment in the cricketing rivalry shared between Kohima and Dimapur since early days. It is something that we miss a lot, and the veteran cricketers’ forum can restore this healthy rivalry and friendship among us. We are thankful to Nagaland Cricket Association for giving us the platform to play this exhibition game,” it read.
