Wokha, Nov. 27 (EMN): The Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), under the supervision of the chief medical officer (CMO) of Wokha, organised a one-day free medical camp at Tiyi Hall in Wokha town on Sunday.

The free medical camp was part of an outreach programme conducted in collaboration with All Commercial Vehicle Association (ACVA), ISRN/ Non- Link Workers Scheme, District AIDS Control Unit, Mobile ICDS, National Vector Borne Diseases Control programme.

The president of ACVA, Renpithung Ngullie, informed that under its organisation, there are six active units comprising auto union, taxi (ANTA, Wokha unit), truck union, bus union, mini truck and Tata mobile/ pick-up. He thanked the medical department for giving an opportunity to ACVA to avail the free medical camp targeting the drivers/ handyman.

He also appealed to the Medical department to conduct a free medical camp during its foundation day on May 17.

Consultant of UPHC, Wokha, Oponthung Kingken, while apprising the gathering during a short programme, stated that the free medical camp was part of the monthly activity under its outreach programme aimed at reaching out to the citizens of Wokha town by providing free medical treatment, medicines and vaccination. He informed that UPHC has targeted the ACVA members this time as they are always engaged in social services and don’t get time to even go for normal medical check-up.

Members of ACVA including vehicle owners, drivers and handyman and other public attended the free medical camp. The medical camp was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Temjen Ao and Dr. Thunjamo, supported by nurses and staff from UPHC, Wokha.

CMO Kiphire conducts health camp

Office of the chief medical officer (CMO) of Kiphire, in collaboration with the District Hospital and Nagaland Forest Management Project (NFMP), conducted a multi-speciality health camp at Anatongre Health and Wellness Centre (HWC) in Kiphire district on November 26.

Speaking at a brief programme, the CMO of Kiphire conveyed gratitude to the villagers for their cooperation and stated that the Medical department alone would not be able to successfully implement government schemes without their assistance and cooperation.

While acknowledging the collaboration between the District Hospital, Kiphire, and the Nagaland Forest Management Project (NFMP) in organising the health camp, the CMO further looked forward to organising similar programmes even in the days to come.

Meanwhile, NFMP has appreciated the Medical department for managing the Anatongre HWC successfully to the satisfaction of the public in the area.

Altogether, seven doctors carried out the medical camp led by the CMO and the district tuberculosis officer, Kiphire.
