Dimapur, May 14 (EMN): United Baptist Churches North East India (UBCANEI) observed its 10th foundation day on May 12 at United Baptist Church, Midland, Dimapur, with the Executive Secretary of UBCANEI, Rev. L Hevuto Awomi, as the speaker.
On the occasion, Rev. Hevuto reminded the gathering that the association was formed with the vision the reach out to people with the gospel.
Quoting the scripture from 1st Corinthians 15:10 and 1st Thessalonians 5:10-11, he exhorted the church leaders to focus on the gift bestowed upon each of them by God and making good use for the glory of His kingdom. He also preached basing on the life of apostle Paul – how God used him for a purpose.
Rev. YT Lotha, UBCANEI council president, offered a prayer for the association, while Akheto Achumi, UBCANEI executive board member, exhorted the congregation.
The programme was led by Moses T Fithu, UBCANEI finance secretary. Enny Thungjamo, pastor of UBC Kuhuboto, said invocation prayer, while Er. Nizal Tepa, UBCANEI executive board member, delivered the welcome address. Mrs Akhala Sharma, UBCANEI women chairperson, said offertory prayer and Rev. Samuel Chishi, senior pastor of UBC Naharbari, pronounced the benediction.
Host church presented welcome song, UBC BSF Camp, Kohima, and UBC Bamun Pukhuri presented special songs.
Meanwhile, UBCANEI has thanked all the churches under the association, which had participated in the 60 hours chain of prayer.
