Tuensang OSC conducts orientation for district officers
Dimapur, Sep. 16 (EMN): The One-Stop Centre (OSC) of Tuensang held an orientation programme on September 12 for government officers, in the deputy commissioner’s conference hall. Members of the district administration, police, and district offices, among others, attended the programme, the IPR stated.
The government publicity agency the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR) issued updates to the media on Monday informing about the programme.
The OSC’s coordinator, Chulong, said that the centre aims to support women who are affected by violence in both private and public spaces including workplace.
‘She also highlighted about the range of services provided at the OSC for violence affected women like Police facilitation, Legal counselling, psychological counselling, medical aid and temporary shelter,’ the IPR stated.
Presentations about the activities and cases taken up at the Sakhi OSC of Tuensang were also presented during the event, the updates stated.
The deputy commissioner of Tuensang, Mohammed Ali Shihab, was stated to have urged all the stakeholders to render support to the OSC ‘so that the women of the district will benefit from OSC,’ the IPR explained.
The Sakhi- OSC is a centrally sponsored scheme of the ministry of Women and Child Development. Its works are intended to support women affected by violence. The OSC is integrated with the women helpline 181 establishment, the IPR stated.
