Tuensang observes ‘Malaria Month’

Dimapur, June 10: Along with the rest of the country, Tuensang District Health Society conducted an essay competition to commemorate ‘Anti Malaria Month’ on June 10 in Government Higher Secondary School, Tuensang, on the theme ‘End malaria for good.’

Altogether, students from ten different schools between Classes VIII-X participated in the competition. The first prize was awarded to Ms Noksen Sangla, student of Class IX from Holy Angel’s School, while the second prize was awarded to Ms Christy of Class X from St. John Higher Secondary School, and Deepika Rai of Class VIII from Akum Imlong School was declared the third winner. Consolation prizes were given to four students. Cash prizes of Rs 2000, Rs 1500, Rs 1000 and Rs 500 along with certificates were awarded to the winners.

The programme was led by Somba, which began with a short speech from Tosoviho Angami, DVBO (NVBDCP), Tuensang, and a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. T Pangjung Sangtam, CMO Tuensang.
