DC Kohima notifies on ‘No Parking’ areas

Dimapur, June 10: Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Kohima, Rovilatuo Mor has notified ‘No Parking’ and ‘Reserved Parking Areas.’

According to the notification, vehicles would be allowed to park only on the right side of the road from Old MLA Hostel Junction to KMC Office. The left side of the road has been designated as ‘No Parking Area’ to facilitate free and easy movement of the vehicles going towards Traders Road.

The area between the Commissioner’s office to Deputy Commissioner’s office has been designated as ‘Reserved Parking Area ‘for the Office of the Commissioner, Nagaland.

The notification said the rules would come into force with immediate effect and any vehicle found violating these rules would be towed away by the Traffic Police and the cost of which including penalties thereof would be borne by the owner of the concerned vehicle.

Deputy Commissioner and Chairman RTA further informed that as and when checking is carried out, defaulters would be penalized as per law and ignorance or non pre-information of the same would not be taken as an excuse.

The notification was issued in the pursuance of the provision given under Sec 117 and Sec 127 of the Motor Vehicles Act 1988 and Sec 34 of the Indian Police Act 1881.
