Imphal, April 4

Sitting Langthabal MLA Karam Shyam will face tribunal court hearing from April 24 for his alleged violation of the 10thSchedule of the Lok Janshakti party. The complainants to the case are K Saratchandra, N Momon and Kh Vimal.A press meet was held today by a complainant at the Educational Guide Centre Library Complex, Singjamei Parking. K Saratchandra said that MLA Shyam will have to attend the final hearing at the Tribunal Court of the Speaker. This came after the three complainants filed a case to the MLA for allegedly violating the 10th Schedule of the said political party. Even while the national president of Lok Janshakti, Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan instructed the only winning Janshakti-MLA of the state, K Shyam to sit in the opposition bench, the MLA disobeyed and supported the Congress government in the state. It may be mentioned that in the Centre too, the party has disjoined from UPA and had merged with the NDA. After this violation, the three complainants requested the national president to take disciplinary action to the MLA.
After that, the defence counsel of K Shyam, advocate Khaidem Mani had warned the complainants in a press meet held in March 1, 2014 that the case over disqualification is not valid and has further warned to sue defamation case to the complainants. K Saratchandra blamed this act of the defence counsel as misleading the public and further demanded that the advocate license of Khaidem Mani should be scrapped as he breached the privilege of the House by commenting irresponsibly.
The complainant also added that he has complained to the Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly to take legal action to the said advocate.
