Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nagaland University conducted technology showcasing of its activities at Akuluto Town hall on 28-03-15In the inaugural programme, Coordinator KVK, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Chaurasia highlighted upon the importance of technology showcasing. He urged the farmers to take up latest technologies with respect to agriculture and allied subject to improve productivity of crop and livestock.Programme coordinator thanked Town Council Chairman, Akuluto and GBs of Neighboring villages for coming forward to carry out the programme successfully with Special gratitude to Ms. Kikumsungla, SDO (Civil) Akuluto Town for taking interest and initiative in inviting the farmers of villages from nearby Akuluto Town.
Demonstration on preparation of different products such as Soymilk, Soynut, Bokashi, Vermi compost, use of different farm implements etc were shown to farmers.
Plant and animal health camps were also organized to help the farmers improve productivity of crop and livestock vaccination of dogs against canine distemper. Videos on preparation of organic manure, yellow sticky trap, preparation of organic tea, production technology of lilium, technology packages in Agriculture and ICT in Agriculture were shown to farmers.
SMS Plant Protection Wapangtoshi, SMS Agronomy Dr. Visakho Shunyu, SMS Animal Science Dr. Nongothung Ezung, Programme Assistant Home Science Ms. Narola Anichari and Programme Assistant Computer Science Mr. Imnameren participated in the programme as resource persons. The programme ended with free distribution of Maize, Bhindi, Chilli, Cabbage and Tomato seeds, maize sheller, farm implements were also provided to nearly 150 participating farmers.
