TaFMA hosts digital programme “My best advice’

Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA) has reached out to the artistes and citizens of Nagaland through a digital programme ‘My best advice’ by roping in seven successful artistes from the state to speak and share their experience till May 11.

Hovithal Sothu, TaFMA project director, informed Eastern Mirror that there were about 300 online viewers on the first and second day. He, however, stated that on May 5 the mentor could not come due to some technical problems and added that his session has been scheduled on May 11.

Sothu said the programme is being organised to let public especially the artistes of Nagaland learn many things from the accomplished professionals. The programme is being organised to let the people know that nothing can stop from learning new things in this modern IT world even if there is physical barrier like the present situation, Sothu added.

Sothu said TaFMA aims to nurture young artistes become professionals by getting tips from the professionals although physical training and talks are not possible now.

Technical issue being one major problem, Sothu however stated that responses of the people was quite positive adding they are receiving positive feedbacks and comments.

“Online things have to take a bigger shape in our industry and I think it is going very well with our artistes and people, we will be pursuing more in this online and live telecast,” he stated.

Bethel Tsuzu, pianist and director of Mountain Music Academy, is the moderator of the ongoing programme.

Mentors namely Asalie Peseyie, CEO of Infinity Inc, spoke on May 4 on the topic ‘Artiste development/ artiste management,’ while on May 6, Mao Subong, recipient of National Award and Governor’s Award, spoke on ‘Empanelment: importance and benefits.’

On May 7, Alobo Naga, singer and songwriter as well as director of Musik- A and recipient of Governor’s Award, is scheduled to share on ‘Musicians guide to social media and online monetisation,’ while Nise Meruno, Yamaha artiste and top 30 young achievers of the country (India Today) as well as recipient of the Governor’s Award, would speak on May 8 on the topic ‘Art of performance.’

Khyochana TCK, Director MAK, Trinity College London, Imagi, Nation, and recipient of Governor’s Award, would speak on May 9 on the topic ‘The value of education in music and production,’ while on May 10, Among Jamir, bass player from Pritam and Amaal Malik and former bassis of Agnee, would speak on ‘Music beyond Nagaland: Journey so far.’ Thejakelie Zuyie, sound engineer and proprietor of Life Pro Sound, would speak on ‘Musician guide to tech rider and sound check.’
