SRSU conducts literary competitions

The Satakha Range Students’ Union (SRSU) has organized a one-day event on career guidance and counselling cum inter high school literary competition on June 3 at 111 Bn BSF auditorium for all the schools in and around Satakha Range.
The programme was chaired by SRSU vice president, Semato Sumi, commenced with an invocation pronounced by Rev. Hukugha Jimo, while the welcome address was delivered by the Union president Ninoto Awomi which also witnessed the presence of SKK president Holuvi Chophy as the special guest along with his colleagues.
In his address, SKK president Holuvi Chophy exhorted the students to compete with the rest of the world as he said God has created us all equally with the same brain and breath. Miss Geli Jimo has enthralled the congregation with her special number.
Miss Ikali Chophy, counselor of District Hospital, Zunheboto and member of All Nagaland Counselor Association, was the main speaker of the event. She actively spoke about avenues for the young students to avail different opportunities through hard work and consistency. She also spoke about different competitive examinations both in state and national level.
She has also enlightened the students about different stages of pros and cons while preparing for NCS, UPSC and allied service examinations. As a youth herself, she also stressed about different vocational job through proper channel and training.
The 2nd session saw a literary competition among different schools in the fields of many literary activities that included quiz, extempore speech, SRSU anthem singing competition, drawing and paintings and essay writing competition which was chaired by Miss Abetoli Muru, SRSU literary secretary. Top ranks and files of 111 Bn BSF have attended the competition session.
Among six high schools which participated in the literary competition, the overall champion was bagged by Highland High School. The best discipline award was bagged by Xuivi High School.
The 2nd session concluded with prize distribution of certificates, seals and other prizes to different schools. SRSY assistant literary secretary Aloketo Kiba delivered the vote of thanks.
Meanwhile, SRSU has conveyed gratitude to the State Council of Educational Research and Training Department (SCERT) for providing resource persons. The sponsors of the event were Kiyelu Jimo, Kilonser GPRN/NSCN and former General Secretary (SRSU), and Victo Jimo, Senior Executive Director, Marcofed, and former president (SRSU).
