Soil conservation assistants undergo refresher training
DIMAPUR — A two-day refresher training programme for the in-service soil conservation assistants (SCAs) was organised by the department of Soil and Water Conservation on March 15 and 16 at the Soil and Water Conservation Research and Training Centre in Sechü-Zubza.
According to a press release, the training was organised with the aim of updating the field staff on the various activities of the department.
The technical sessions covered a range of topics to enhance the knowledge of the attendees. Kum. Khroteu Ritse provided insights into guidelines on soil sampling, processing, and analysis. Kihika G, assistant soil conservation officer (ASCO)(E) , delved into portal management for the scheme Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana.
Vethito Nyekha, junior soil conservation officer (JSCO), shared expertise on the preparation of estimates and implementation of engineering structures for soil and water conservation. Kevileto Rote, ARO, discussed agroforestry, gap-plantation, and species selection. Lastly, the principal and joint director, Hetoho Y Swu, led a session on the documentation of project activities.
Altogether, 32 participants attended the training programme.
