Skill training for construction workers underway

Dimapur, Dec. 11 (EMN): Three-day soft skill training for Nagaland building and other construction workers got underway on December 10 at Government Higher Secondary School, Nagarjan in Dimapur. The training is being organised by Nagaland Building and other Construction Worker’s Welfare Board, department of Labour in collaboration with Career Bridge Human Capital Solution Gurgaon.
Addressing the inaugural programme, project officer, Labour dept. T Chuba Yanger, said soft skill training for the construction workers, which was a long felt need, was made into a reality with the initiative and support of Parliamentary Secretary for Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dr. Neiphrezo Keditsu.
Highlighting the importance of soft skills for any job, project officer said the employability of an individual is not only dependent on solid technical knowledge and skills, but soft skills like communication, teamwork and leadership skills among the workers are equally important as it enhances productivity and successful construction works.
Stating that Nagas are good and talented in many fields, he said with added knowledge of soft skills Nagas can do better than others and become successful and make long-term career.
Director of Learning & Development Career Bridge Human Capital Solutions, Gurgaon, Vikas Rao, who is one of the resource persons for the training programme gave an overview of the training programme.
Resource person for the training included Opangyanger and Bendangnungsang Longchar from Kohima.
