Dimapur, May 9 (EMN) : Advisor for Urban Development SI Jamir on Tuesday appealed to the central government to release funds “under 10 per cent lumpsum scheme,” for the northeast region states, for projects submitted by the government of Nagaland to the Union Ministry of Urban Development.
The advisor’s establishment issued a press release to the media on May 9 informing about Jamir’s meeting with the Union Minister of State for Urban Development Rao Inderjeet Singh in New Delhi on stated date.
In a meeting with the Union Minister, the press release stated, Jamir said that “in accordance with the provisions of the scheme,” various projects were “vetted” by the ministry during 2016-17 “but no sanction was accorded to any project.”
A reprioritized list of “vetted” projects was handed over by Jamir to the Union Minister at the latter’s office in Nirman Bhavan in New Delhi, it was informed.
“Jamir also apprised the Union Minister that the projects were in accordance with the flagship schemes of the government of India and encompasses various components of urban development which would enhance the quality of life for the urban populace of the state,” the updates said.
The Union Minister “assured full support” of the centre “towards expediting the sanction” of said projects at an early date, the note added.
