SHGs, VLOs contribute food items to Dimapur quarantine centres

Dimapur, June 15 (EMN): In an initiative to extend a helping hand to the people staying in quarantine facilities, self help groups (SHGs) and village-level organisations (VLOs) under Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM), Dimapur, contributed a truckload of fresh vegetables and rice bags to quarantine centres at Agri Expo, Government College Dimapur and Livingstone Foundation Higher Secondary School on June 13.

The food items were contributed by different SHGs and VLOs under Chumoukedima , Niuland and Kuhuboto, informed an update on Monday.

SHGs of Manglamukh village, Dhansiripar block also donated vegetables to Ganeshnagar quarantine centre.

The donated vegetables included pumpkin, cabbage, onion, green vegetables, cucumber, banana flower, chillies, potatoes, ridge gourd, etc., which were all organically grown by the SHGs women as part of their livelihoods, it informed.

Program Manager Livelihoods Atenjen Lemtur and staff of NSRLM under Dimapur district, took the initiative in collecting the vegetables from different villages.
