Wokha BJP commemorates one year of Namo 2.0

Dimapur, June 15 (EMN): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Wokha unit commemorated one year of Namo 2.0 at its district office, Tsumang colony in Wokha town.

Sharing about the visit of BJP legislatures to the district during this pandemic period, the unit president Yanthungo Kikon said that Wokha unit has been recognised as one of the most active party in the fight against the novel coronavirus in the entire Northeast India, an update stated on Monday.

He said the joint effort of the legislatures as well as the party workers in the district have been overwhelming.

The president, on behalf of all the party workers thanked Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton, who is also the legislators in-charge of the district and Mmhonlumo Kikon, advisor of Science and Technology, for their tireless effort in containing the spread of Covid-19.

Kikon mentioned that the legislators not only extended financial help but installed aTrueNat testing machine in the district. He assured them that the party shall always remain faithful and loyal under their leadership and will be there whenever needed, it read.

He also thanked Chief Minister Nephui Rio for including Mmhonlumo Kikon in the high power committee and also appointing him as the government spokesperson for the Covid-19 pandemic. He further conveyed his appreciation to the state BJP president, Temjen Imna Along, for appointing Gifty Jami as the IT convenor.

Brief reports of mandals and morchas — BJYM, BJMM, ST Morcha, Kisan Cell, Ex-serviceman cell —were presented by respective presidents.

The president of state Kisan Morcha, Senkathung Jami, highlighted the achievements of the government in one year time, such as revocation of Article 370, the Citizenship Amendment Bill, Triple Talag etc. He stated that all these are historic decisions taken by the government at the centre under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it read.

He challenged the party workers to be good leaders ‘who are not in love with money, neither for publicity but for humanity.’

Renponthung Ezung, state council member, appreciated the BJP in the centre for advocating the re-building of India and restoring confidence of the party and also expanding its base.

The BJP’s leaders, he said undertook a series of reformation and transformation through various schemes which directly benefited the people.

He exhorted the party workers to develop a positive mindset and appreciate each other leaving aside party differences.

One minute of silence was observed as a gesture of respect to Dr. T M Lotha, a veteran politician and statesman among the Kyong Lothas.
