Seyiesalie Nakhro is CSA wrestling champ

Seyiesalie Nakhro emerged champion of Chakhroma Sports Association (CSA) Wrestling Meet 2014 held at Medziphema Town local ground on January 31. Mhasivikho Kimho bagged the second place while Vikeso Shüya and Diethosalie Rürhia stood third and fourth place respectively. Seyiesalie pocketed a sum of Rs.50, 000 while the second, third and fourth received Rs.30, 000, Rs.20, 000 and Rs.10, 000 respectively.Along with the cash prize, the top four wrestlers; Seyiesalie Nakhro, Mhasivikho Kimho, Vikeso Shüya and Diethosalie Rürhia also booked a place in the forthcoming Angami Wrestling Meet which will be held at Kohima. The others who qualified for the AWA meet are Kevisezo Lhousa, Sekho Ringa, Thinovilie Rürhia, Viketoukho Rürhia, Rokovotuo Zhünyü, Kikrukhrielie Kuotsu, Ketholhousie Chale, Kedovikho Visezo, Keneilhoulie Kin, Hezhülhoukho Krose, Ketouvi Terhüja, Rokotsizo Krose, Seyielezo Savino and Seyieneilhou Keyho.
Gracing the closing ceremony as the chief guest was Neibu Nagi, 1st Class Contractor, who called upon the gathering to promote wrestling to higher level. Wrestling being a main traditional game, we should find means to promote the game to higher level, said Nagi.
Lamenting on the poor economic condition of the state, the chief guest called upon the people not to rely on ‘salary economy’ alone but to venture into other fields with equal enthusiasm and determination. Economy problem must be solved first in order to solve other problems, said Nagi and further suggested that business is a good option as it gives total decision independence to one. While urging the people to stop the menace of being too dependent on the government, Nagi reminded the gathering that the people also have a part to play in building the economy of the state. For too long, we’ve been considered as consumers but now, it is time we stand on our feet as producers through different ventures, he added.
Earlier, the God’s blessing was invoked by Seyievikho Sothu, Asst. Pastor, CRC Medziphema town and a special number was presented by Rüleileü Yashü. The programme was chaired by Kelengulie Kera, VP CSA while the vote of tanks was proposed by Rovituo Niphi, Jt Wrestling Secretary, CSA.
