Sant Nirankari Mission organises blood donation drive in Dimapur
DIMAPUR — The Sant Nirankari Mission, Dimapur, organised a blood donation drive at the Rotary Club Dimapur on Sunday
According to a press release, the event was inaugurated by Rev. Sukhdev, General Secretary and Member in Charge of Sant Nirankari Mandal Delhi, along with Jhunilal Sha, Mukhi Branch of Dimapur.
Dr. Temsu and his medical team from District Hospital Dimapur were present to oversee the smooth conduct of the blood donation process, in which a total of 50 units of blood were donated by members of the Sant Nirankari Mission from Dimapur, Digboi, Lumding, and Uriamghat.
On the occasion, Rev. Sukhdev highlighted that the Sant Nirankari Mission recognises blood as a universal human lifeline. He emphasised that there is no substitute for blood in this world and stated that the Nirankari Mission has consistently contributed to this noble cause.
It may be mentioned that the mission operates four hospitals and 134 dispensaries on a charitable basis in India. Baba Hardev Singh Maharaj initiated the voluntary blood donation movement in 1986, following the martyrdom of Baba Gurbachan Singh, as a tribute to him and others who sacrificed their lives to uphold the ideals of truth, peace, tolerance, and non-violence.
This year, the Sant Nirankari Mission organised a mega blood donation drive at over 200 locations across India, during which approximately 30,000 units of blood were donated.
