SAMETI organises training on production technology and pest management
DIMAPUR — The State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) organised a two-day training programme on ‘production technology and pest management of summer vegetable crops’ on August 8 and 9.
Resource persons for the training, Dr. Abon Yanthan, scientist (vegetable science), ICAR Research Complex, Nagaland centre, Medziphema, and Dr. Matthew Baite, scientist (plant pathology), ICAR, Jharnapani, deliberated on production technology of important summer vegetable crops grown in Nagaland, as well as disease management of cucumber and king chilli.
According to a press release, the participants were also taken on a field trip to the Central Institute of Horticulture, Medziphema, and the ICAR Nagaland Centre, Medziphema.
The valedictory programme was chaired by Yezaho Swu, DPD SAMETI, while feedback on the training was provided by all the participants. Certificates were distributed to the trainees on the occasion by Dr. Watimongla Jamir, director of SAMETI and principal of IETC.
