Road, drainage in Kiphire board’s December agenda

The monthly meeting of Kiphire District Planning & Development Board “cum advent Christmas” was held on December 4 at Alihkhyong, Zungki Valley. The meeting was president over by deputy commissioner, also vice chairman of the DPDB, of Kiphire district, A Chumremo Odyuo.
After reviewing the minutes of the board’s previous meeting, the officials discussed the issue of two taxi permits which proposes to offer permits to ply between Kohima and Kiphire. The matter was decided to be forwarded to Regional Transport Office of Kohima for further necessary action.
Regarding the setting up of a Pungro SDPDB, the establishment of the additional deputy commissioner of Pungro was entrusted to forward the required information to the State Planning department.
The board also discussed widening of approach roads and construction of drainage. The board has requested the Public Works Department (roads and bridges) to prepare a technical estimate for submission to the Urban Development department. The PWD was also requested to help out in maintaining the road and as when BRGF was released.
The proposal for construction of drainage, power supply and repair of hanging bridge at Alihkhong, Zungki Valley was also discussed.
After thorough deliberation, the board also discussed the possibility of brining under the L[ocal area Development Program a proposal for installing 100 street lights in Kiphire town on strategic locations.
The matter was discussed and, eventually, the officials requested the SDO (electrical) to prepare a technical estimate and submit it to the board in the next monthly meeting.
Also, as directed by the board, Food & Civil Supplies & SDEO presented their departmental activities. The next departmental activities will be presented by District Administration and Forest Department. Vote of thanks was delivered by Pudusul Luho, DPO and member-secretary of the DPDB.
