Kohima, March 14 (EMN): The department of Rural Development bade farewell to its additional director Nolengol Angami, who is retiring from service, during a programme held at RD conference hall on March 14.
Nolengol Angami joined the department in 1983 as a block development officer and retiring as additional director on superannuation after having served the department for almost 35 years.
Speaking during the occasion, secretary for the department, Kelei Zeliang, congratulated the outgoing officer on his retirement and also sought for his advice and guidance and appealed for his cooperation to the department even in the days to come. Maintaining that retirement is a normal process for any government servant, he however expressed his happiness that he is retiring in good health. He called upon the officers and staff of the department to emulate and imitate the good character and behaviour he had exhibited during his career as a government servant.
RD director, Imlimeren Jamir, while congratulating the outgoing officer on his successful retirement from government service with excellent record and in good health, wished him success in his future endeavours. Terming him as a true definition of simplicity in thoughts and action, he has lauded his innate ability to remain positive and calm in all situations.
“Your humility and memories you leave behind will always be cherished in our mind,” he stated.
Speaking on behalf of the NRDSA, K Neibou Sekhose, joint director, was all praise on the officer for his gentle approach and soft spoken nature in tackling any crisis.
“With your guidance, we learned to function as a team and your sincerity and high dedication will be felt deeply by one and all,” he maintained while assuring to emulate and uphold the ideas and principles he so dearly cherished.
The outgoing additional director thanked all the officers and staff of the department for their concern during his term in the department and assured them of his presence even in the days to come. He also maintained that the best part of his life was spent with the department and its employees and further expressed pride and gratitude for the strong support system the department had been during his good and bad times.
