The village council of Razhuphe in Dimapur has warned individuals against obtaining land deeds in the areas of the village.
The council said that “some persons have managed to obtain jamabandi/patta from the revenue branch of DC office of Dimapur, thereby claiming village land for selling and mortgaging the village land with those illegal jamabandi/ patta within the jurisdiction of Industrial Village Razhuphe Dimapur.”
Anybody dealing with ‘those unscrupulous people without the knowledge of the village authority within Razhuphe Dimapur will be doing so at their own risk,” a note received here today from the village council stated. “As because the government has not yet acquired the village land of Industrial Village Razhuphe and for which the village authority cannot accept those illegal jamabandi/patta for selling/mortgaging of land within our village.”
The village council of Razhuphe has requested the deputy commissioner of Dimapur district to “cancel all such illegal jamabandi/patta which were issued within the village by violation of the Naga traditional land ownership and also government ban order of land allotment within Nagaland 1992.”
