An ADIP (assistance to disabled persons) camp for provision of assistive devices to person with disabilities (PwD) was held in Peren town
DIMAPUR — An ADIP (assistance to disabled persons) camp for provision of assistive devices to person with disabilities (PwD) was held in Peren town on May 24.
The camp was organised by the District Disability Rehabilitation Centre (DDRC), District Hospital Dimapur, in collaboration with the National Institute for Locomotor Disabilities (NILD), Kolkata. The camp was supported by the office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, deputy commissioner, medical superintendent, chief medical officer and Differently Abled People’s Organisation (DAPO) of Peren district.
An update from DAPO stated that the PwD have availed the service such as assessment and disability certificate, unique disability ID, assessment for provision of ideal assistive devices for each PwD, education on PwD rights etc.

Altogether, 142 beneficiaries including hearing impaired-62, visually impaired-15, locomotor-28, intellectual disability-2, cerebral palsy-11 and multiple disability-24 have benefited from the camp.
