PGC organises cultural-cum-literary fest

Dimapur, April 29 (EMN): Peren Government College organised a three-day ‘Cultural-cum-literary fest 2023’ in the college campus from April 27 to the 29th.

An update from the college stated that the events in the literary category included competitions on prepared speech, extempore speech, performance poetry, essay writing and quiz in which four groups namely Spades, Diamonds, Hearts and Clubs competed in those events.

The cultural events included competitions in folk song, duet, ethnic cultural show, indigenous cooking, handicraft making, Naga wrestling, drama and group song.

It stated that an opening prayer at the inaugural programme was said by its assistant professor Joseph KJ, while the welcome address was delivered by Isaplungle, general secretary of PGCSU, and a song was presented by PGCSU executives.

A speech was also delivered by the college’s vice principal, Albert, followed with a presentation of instrumental piece by Hingdabambe, student of 6th semester. It added that a speech on redeeming of culture was delivered by assistant professor, Heiramchube Leigise, followed with a Kuki cultural dance and vote of thanks delivered by PGCSU vice president, Ilamlungbe.
