Dimapur, Sep. 15 (EMN): Due to difficulties faced by the Health department in managing resources, the Peren district task force (DTF) on Covid-19 has decided to temporarily withdraw the medical staff check gates and directed the police personnel on duty to continue regulation of SOPs by screening and monitoring of all inbound travellers.

The decision to this effect was taken during its meeting held on September 14 in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s office under the chairmanship of the DC Peren, Sentiwapang Aier, who is also the DTF chairman.

After reviewing the new cases of Covid-19 positive in the district, the DC cautioned key workers to avoid lapses in managing cases and contact tracings.

The house decided that government and private institutes in and around Jalukie town should maintain their own designated quarantine centres for better management of returnees.

The house also directed the sub-divisional task forces (SDTFs) to monitor adherence of SOPs by the public especially travellers, review current situation and to report to the DTF by next week.

Regarding Covid Care Centre (CCC), the members decided to convert the existing quarantine centre at Girls’ Hostel Veterinary College to CCC for both male and female, while the chapel hall of GHSS Jalukie would be utilised as quarantine centre for male returnees with the consent of concerned authorities till alternate arrangement is made.
