Peace only path to usher growth in society — Advisor Keoshu

DIMAPUR — The third session of the Shamator District GBs Association (SDGBA) was held at Anatongre village, Shamator district on Thursday, with Advisor for Youth Resources and Sports, S Keoshu Yimkhiung, as the special guest.

Addressing the session, the advisor said that peace is the only path to usher growth and prosperity in the society, an update stated.

“If we do not have peace and harmony, achieving political strength, economic stability and cultural growth will be impossible,” he said.

Emphasising that peace and harmony are essential conditions for growth of the ‘Brotherhood district’ (Shamator), Keoshu also said that they are the cardinal signs of a civilised society. “These are the indispensable elements of progress and prosperity of mankind and society,” he added.

Earlier, welcome address and keynote address was delivered by Kiusthong, vice president of SDGBA, while the association’s president J Kiumukam; Yansumong, head GB of Anatongre village; Laji Luyanba, general secretary of Yimkhiung Tribal Council and P Timong, president of Tikhir Tribal Council, also spoke on the occasion.

The programme was chaired by S Tochimong, general secretary of SDGBA and Wongtsukiu, former chairman, proposed vote of thanks.
