Dimapur, Jan. 6 (EMN):
In its endeavour to deliver justice to the victims of Oting incident, Tizit Area Students’ Union (TASU) undertook a bike rally from Tizit to Mon headquarters on Thursday. About 150 bikers joined the rally to show resentment against the Oting incident that claimed the lives of 14 people by the security forces on December 4 and 5.

A former TASU student leader told Eastern Mirror that the bikers left around 9:30 am from Tizit town local ground and proceeded to Oting village where a small programme was held with the villagers after visiting the graveyard. Later, the team proceeded to Mon headquarters and held a meeting with the officials of Konyak Union (KU), Konyak Students’ Union (KSU) and Kongsk Nyupuh Sheko Khong (KNSK) at KU office.

According to the leader, the main purpose of the meeting was to demand for speedy delivery of justice and extend cooperation and support with one another.

It was also informed that the 42nd annual sports meet of TASU, which takes place in the first week of January, was called off in solidarity with the victims and family members of the December 4 and 5 incident.
