Kohima, Aug. 21 (EMN): Founder and chief executive officer of Entrepreneur Associates (EA), Neichute Doulo, reminded students to seek broader avenues and opportunities in terms of employment in the market than confining oneself to the public sector.
He was speaking as the resource person during a felicitation programme-cum- career guidance for HSLC and HSSLC successful candidates, organised by the New Reserve Youth Organisation (NRYO) at Police Baptist Church multipurpose building near Phesama in Kohima on Saturday.
While reminding the definition of success in the context of the Nagas in getting government jobs, Doulo impressed upon the students to get rid of such mindset but rather think differently to change the status quo of the society. On the contrary, Doulo stated that “Business has got huge opportunities in the state.”
He reminded the students to work hard, become successful and be job providers rather than seeking jobs.
He expressed happiness to note that many toppers in this year’s HSLC and HSSLC examinations were mostly Nagas, he has credited to the involvement of parents in helping the students with their studies.
‘Education should not only come from teachers but also from parents,’ he said.
Exhorting the students as the special guest, Vikehiekho Kintso, chairman of New Reserve Panchayat/ Council, congratulated the candidates for passing out with flying colours and bringing good name to the district as well as the colony in particular.
He also made a special mention to Keneino Thorie, the state HSLC’s topper who is also from the New Reserve colony.
Kintso, while reminding that nobody can make progress or become successful in a day without experiencing and facing various challenges in life, asked the students to continue to maintain the momentum and keep soaring high with “alertness, agility and ambition in mind”.
Meanwhile, Keneino Thorie, who spoke on behalf of the successful candidates, reminded her fellow students to gear up to face new challenges including both success and failures in life as a new phase begins to reach another milestone.
“As a new academic phase begins, I hope everyone remains committed and strives towards excellence in the days to come,” she said.
Kethonu Neihu, while chairing the programme, informed that altogether, 109 candidates comprising 59 HSLC and 50 HSSLC students cleared their examinations this year from New Reserve colony.
Citations were handed over to the successful students from the colony comprising six sectors. Meanwhile, Imsenyala Jamir, Moajungla Walling, Sentirenla Jamir, Imkongsangla Longkumer and Themneilhing Doungel were felicitated with a gift hamper on the occasion.
