DIMAPUR— The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has demanded the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) to conduct recruitment examination for five posts of Motor Vehicle Inspector (Grade -III), again citing anomalies in the question paper.

The federation stated in a press release that it received a formal complaint from candidates (diploma holders of automobile engineering branch), who recently wrote the recruitment examination for the said posts under the Transport department, alleging anomalies in the paper II.

The complainants had alleged that they were “deprived of equal opportunity and fairness in the examination, as questions were asked from other branches of Engineering which were out of the syllabus prescribed by the commission”.

“We were made to understand that question no. 1 to 30 were asked from the survey diploma course which has no connection with automobile course. Also 3 questions i.e. No. 87, 89 and 113 were repeated in Question No 97, 95 and 117 respectively,” read the press release from NSF, adding that it had a thorough perusal of the allegation.

Asserting that such a grave oversight by the reputed NPSC, which is responsible for recruiting the top bureaucrats and technocrats in the state, cannot be tolerated, the NSF demanded it to re-conduct the examination.

This, the federation said, “will ensure that a level playing field is created for all the candidates desiring to serve the State government in the capacity Motor Vehicle Inspector”.

It also urged the commission to exercise utmost caution while setting the question papers for various recruitment examinations.
