Dimapur, June 16 (EMN): A two-week state handloom expo, organised by the Nagaland Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation (NHHDC) and sponsored by the office of Development Commissioner (Handloom), Ministry of Textiles, government of India, got underway at Urban Haat in Dimapur.
The expo was inaugurated by MLA Azheto Zhimomi, on June 16 in the presence of Zakabo V Rotokha, managing director of NHHDC and other officials.
An update from NHHDC stated that a total of 60 artisans are participating in the expo by exhibiting various products. It stated that 18 participants from other states such as Assam, Manipur, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Delhi are participating in the expo besides 42 participants are from various districts of Nagaland.
The main objective of the exhibition was to promote marketing channels and create market linkage in a holistic and integrated manner. The exhibition is also being organised to showcase the talent of local weavers.
