Dimapur, July 10 (EMN): Longleng district planning and development board (DPDB) meeting was held under the chairmanship of the new deputy commissioner and vice chairman of DPDB Longleng, Dharam Raj, on July 7.
The DC, while welcoming the members, exhorted the HoD to be more active by sharing their wisdom and past experiences in the DPDB, a DIPR report stated.
Raj stated that expression of difference in opinion was required to have innovative solutions to every problem and added that innovative solutions could only be achieved through active participation of the members. He also appealed for better coordination of all the government agencies with the district administration.
Referring to the departmental activities presented by the Land Record and Survey Officer (LRSO), the DC called upon the HoD to obtain land permit for their respective offices and quarters from the district administration with GPS survey done by the LRSO to avoid land encroachment.
The DC also apprised the members to compulsorily vaccinate their staff with Covid-19 vaccine and keep vigil against reports of the virus in the district.
The CMO of Longleng, Dr. Obangjongla, apprised the members on the status of Covid case in the district.
Responding to the status report of swine fever in the district by Dr. Aoyimson Jamir, the DC urged the district Veterinary and Animal Husbandry department to come up with proper action plan to control the spread of Africa Swine Fever in the district and also initiate measures to control the stray dogs in the district headquarters.
Stating that pig farming is an important occupation of people to boost rural economy, the DC urged the department to take all necessary measures to contain the prevailing swine fever in the district.
Meanwhile, the board recommended, in principle, for extension of play ground and construction of rostrum at Yingli College.
The DPO of Longleng, Longai Phom, felicitated the new DC on behalf of the DPDB during the programme.
